I find the sentences given to first-offenders like Genarlow Wilson and Jamie Olis and Morton Robert Berger and Weldon Angelos and many juvenile offenders serving life sentences so troubling because they treat very long terms of imprisonment as a first resort, not as a last resort. [read post]
